Artist Statement
Art is created through experience and perception. The purpose of art is to inflict emotion or spark curiosity. My art is created through spirit, emotion, and messages from God. My mission as an artist is to spread my work with a knowing that it will resonate deeply with those who seek it.
My goals as an artist is to continue to challenge myself by learning new skills and to have my work continue on its legacy for generations past. To spread a timeless message.
Biography
Britney Augustin was born on January 31, 1999 in Naples, Florida. She is the middle child of 5 children. Her parents migrated from Haiti and started a new life in the United States in search of better opportunities. As a child, Britney loved to paint and draw. Throughout grade school, her favorite classes were art and P.E. Although Britney was always drawn to art, her genetics gifted her with great athleticism which allowed her to excel greatly throughout her track career—a journey that started in middle school and led her all the way to her bachelor's degree.
Throughout her career, Britney's artwork has been focused on natural feminine beauty. In her paintings, she uses bright colors and organic shapes. The elements in the painting may seem random and abstract at first, but with closer attention to detail, they tell a story—mostly stories of love in all forms. Through her art, she aspires to move people through passion and create timeless pieces.
Since her arrival in Atlanta, Britney has found herself involved in the art community, making amazing connections while continuing her passion. Her artistic career kicked off with her very first art show in July of 2023. Since then, she has displayed her artistic drive by commissioning many pieces: dog portraits, wedding portraits, memorial portraits, and has been featured in a student article at GSU. She is eager to grow her artistic career by building more connections and showcasing her work in more shows in 2026.
